Apollo 13 Launched Today in 1970

Apollo 13 was NASA's 3rd moon landing mission, launched on April 11, 1970, from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The crew members of the Apollo 13 were astronauts James A. Lovell, John L. Swigert, and Fred W. Haise.This mission got aborted after an oxygen tank exploration on April 13 evening. Now, the lunar landing of this mission got cancelled, and the entire mission now revolved around bringing the crew back home alive!
Fighting against all the odds, the team landed safely on April 17 1970. Fujairah issued these commemorative stamps, in 1970 to commemorate the safe return of the astronauts.
