2012 London Olympics Gold Medal to Be Sold

RR Auction is going to organize a sale on 21st July where the winner’s gold medal from the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London would be offered along with several other such Olympic medals, like 44 participation medals, 19 winners' medals and 31 torches.The edge inscription has not yet been disclosed as it depicts the sport for which the medal was presented. The auctioneers don’t want to reveal the recipient of the medal and only the winning bidder would know about it.
These gold medals are made of gilt silver, weigh 433 grams and feature the inscription XXX OLYMPIAD LONDON 2012 on the obverse. The five Olympic rings, winged Nike and the Panathinaikon Stadium, with the Acropolis are also depicted.
The reverse features the London 2012 emblem of the London Games with an abstract linear background. The medal’s medals purple ribbon reads ‘LONDON 2012’ with the Olympic rings.
The estimate value of the medal is $30,000+.
