Battle of Okiwana was the battle fought between the U.S. and Japanese forces on Okinawa. It was the major battle of the Pacific War fought on the island of Okinawa. The island of Okinawa is the largest in the chain of islands known as the Ryukyus which lie to the southwest of Japan.

The Battle of Okinawa took place on April 1, 1945, and lasted until June 22, 1945. The Battle of Okinawa resulted in the largest casualties with over 100,000; Japanese casualties and 50,000 casualties for the Allies.

The U.S won the Battle of Okinawa and occupied Okinawa. The Battle of Okinawa is the last battle of World War II.
