Louis Pasteur was a French chemist and microbiologist. He is well known for his discoveries of principles in vaccination, microbial fermentation, and pasteurization. Louis Pasteur is one of the founders of medical microbiology and the first scientist to discover the role of micro-organisms in disease. He is the first scientist to find out the prevention of sickness through vaccination.Louis Pasteur; is regarded as one of the fathers of the germ theory of disease. His experiments showed that disease could be stopped by killing germs or stopping germs from spreading.
This commemorative stamp was issued in 1995 by the Indian government to commemorate him and his work.
