Saint Ravidasalso known as Raidas, was an Indian mystic poet-saint of the Bhakti Movement. He was one of the most renowned saints of North India of the Bhakti movement. Saint Ravidas is considered a great saint, philosopher, poet, Social reformer. Through his writing saint, Ravidas gave spiritual and social messages to people; to reform their minds and show their boundless love towards God.Saint Ravidas was born in Varanasi to the untouchable, leather-working class. Therefore, most of his poems and verses revolve around his low social position. He also wrote about the vocal against the varna system his poetry often question caste, hegemony, valued labor of all sorts, as well as a life of simplicity and morality.
