Gold Square Tanka of Nasir Shah Sold For INR 90,000

Nasir Shah was the sultan of Malwa; he ruled Malwa Sultanate between AH 906 and AH 916. He was the son of a Ghiyath shah. Malwa Sultanate was a late medieval kingdom Probably of Turco-Afgan origin. The Malwa Sultanate was founded by Dilawar Khan Gauri, the governor of the Delhi Sultanate, who asserted his independence in 1392 CE.

This gold square Tanka; was issued by Nasir Shah during his rule in Malwa Sultanate in the Hijri year 908. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as, “Al WathiqBi’lSamad lam YazaliAbu’lMuzaffarNasir shah”. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as “Bin Ghiyath shah al- Khalji al- sultan KhalladaMulkahu”.

This gold square tanka was sold for INR 90000 in an auction of Oswal Antiques held in Kolkatta on 25th December 2021.
