Sir Peter Paul Rubens was a French artist and diplomat from the Duchy of Brabant in the Southern Netherlands (modern-day Belgium). He was the Flemish painter, having a great exponent of Baroque Painting's dynamism, vitality, and sensuous exuberance. Ruben was also a prolific designer of cartoons for the Flemish tapestry workshops and frontispieces for the publishers in Antwerp. Rubens presides.
