The Khalji dynasty was the ruling dynasty in Delhi during the medieval period in India. They ruled Delhi between 1290 CE and 1320 CE. The founder of this dynasty was Jalal ud Din FiruzKhalji.

The Khilji or Khalji Dynasty was a Muslim Dynasty having a Turkic origin that ruled north India from 1290-1320 AD. They were the 2nd dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate. Known for assassinators and tyrants, the Khiljis were a powerful dynasty that successfully stopped the Mongol invaders and raided into the south of the country.
