Jhalkari Bai was an Indian women soldier; played an important role; in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. She was an incredible woman from a humble background. Jhalkari Bai rose to the occasion to fight for her people and country. She eventually rose to the position of a prominent advisor to the queen, Rani of Jhansi.Jhalkari Bai was a brave girl from her childhood; the village people were amazed by her skills when they learned that she killed a tiger only by the axe when the tiger attack her. She also challenged a gang of dacoits who raided her village and forced them to retreat.
Jhalkari Bai started her carrier just as an ordinary soldier in the army of Rani Laxmi Bai. Later she was rose to the position of advising the queen and participating in vital decisions. Rani Laxmi bai added her to the army and also trained her in shooting and igniting the cannons as part of preparations to challenge the British intrusion.
During the revolt of 1857; she stood like a pillar for Rani Jhansi for protecting her motherland.
