Maharajadhiraja Sawai Madho Singh II was the Maharajadhiraja of Jaipur. He was the adopted son of Maharaja Ram Singh. He sat on the throne of Jaipur in 1880 CE and ruled it till 1922 CE. Maharaja Madho Singh supported the supremacy of British rule and even respected their stronghold on India. He also helped Britain in their various military expenditures and was besotted with many titles and privileges.This gold mohur was issued by Maharaja Madho Singh, during his rule in Princely State Jaipur. The weight of this gold mohur is 10.90g and it was minted in Sawai Jaipur. The obverse of the coin is inscribed with the name and title of Madho Singh II with regal year 3 and ‘Jhar’. The reverse of the coin is inscribed with the name and title of Queen Victoria with Hijri date 1882.
