The country shares borders with Belarus to the north; Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary to the west; Romania and Moldova to the south; and has a coastline along the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.The note is of yellow and blue color. The dimension of 1 Hryvnia banknote is 118 x 63 mm. The front side of the note features, “Volodymyr the Great of Kyiv (c. 958 – 1015), Prince of Novgorod and Grand Prince of Kyiv and Ruler of Kyiv Rus in (980–1015)”. The backside of the note features, “Volodymyr I's Fortress Wall in Kyiv”. The note was issued on 22nd May 2006.
