Kundan Lal Saigal, popularly known as K.L. Saigal, was an Indian singer and actor. He is considered the first superstar of the Hindi Film Industry. He got his first break in 1932 in the movie Mohabbat Ke Ansu. During his first three movies, he used his name as Saigal Kashmiri, but later from his fourth movie Yahudi Ki Ladki, released in 1933. he used the name Kundan Lal Saigal (K L Saigal).

K.L.Saigal is best known for his unique voice quality; he has sung over 185 songs throughout his career. He worked in almost 36 movies in three languages. Out of these 36 moves, 28 were in Hindi, 7 were in Bengali, and 1 in Tamil. Some of his popular and successful movies are Surdas, Tansen, Street Singer, Lagan, etc.
