Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundela was a Bundeli warrior; fought against Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and established his kingdom in Bundelkhand. Maharaja Chhartrsal got inspired by the advice of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and raised the banner of revolt against the Mughals in Bundelkhand at the age of 22. Maharaja Chhatrasal declares his independence from the Mughals in 1720. Maharaja Chhatrasal was successful in resisting the Mughal Empire until he was attacked by Muhammad Khan Bangash in December 1728.At the age of 22, Chhatrasal formed an army; and took command of it by established a headquarters at Mhow. He uprooted the Mughal forces from the region of Bundelkhand and established it as an independent and powerful kingdom of the Bundelas.
