An adjoined image is of silver Half Kori issued by Bahadur Khan from Junagadh Princely State in 1236 Anno Hijri or 1877 VikramSamvat. The obverse of the coin depicts, “Muhammad Akbar in Persian legend, Shri Diwan in Devanagari within dotted border”. The reverse of the coin features, “Gadh and Ba all in Devanagari, AH and VS date, Scimitar and Mint name within dotted border”.

Junagadh princely state was a part of the Kathiawar Political Agency ruled by Babi or Babai. It covered an area of 3,284 square miles. The state was bounded by Barda and Halar in the north, Gohelwar in the east, and the Arabian Sea to the west and south side. The main rivers of the state were Bhadar and Saraswati. Junagadh rulers were entitled to 13 gun salutes from the British authority.

The State’s capital was Junagadh town which has been a tourist attraction from those times with Girnar Mountain, Jain temples, Veraval port, and Somnath temple.
