Mike Castle To Hand-sign NGC Certification Labels
2016-06-27 Mon
It has been officially announced that Honourable Mike Castle has agreed to hand-sign NGC labels exclusively for NSG and Heritage Auctions. Castle is a former Governor of Delaware and a politician who introduced some of the most important modern US coins. He was the man behind 50 State Quarters Program, the Sacagawea Dollar, the Presidential Dollar Series, the American Platinum Eagle, the America the Beautiful Quarters Program and a number of modern commemoratives.Almost 150 million Americans became casual coin collectors as a result of the 50 State Quarters Program which was started in 1999. It had a major positive effect on the hobby and the US government earned $7 billion out of it.
He sponsored the Commemorative Coin Authorization and Reform Act of 1995, which led to the American Platinum Eagle bullion coin. He was also responsible for introducing a law which restricts the number of commemorative coins that can be issued in a year to two. This increased the collector’s interest and the focus on the release.
He also introduced the America the Beautiful Quarters Program after the 50 State Quarters Program, the largest silver coin by the U.S. Mint.
The amount of work that this man has done to revolutionize coinage in America is definitely commendable. This highly regarded statesman and hobby supporter separately hand-signed NGC certification labels.
