Raja Ram Mohan Roy was the father of the Indian Renaissance; he was an Indian reformer and was the founder of Brahmo Samaj. Brahmo Samaj believes in the existence of one supreme God, and that the worship of him needs no fixed place or time.Raja Ram Mohon Roy was on 22nd May 1772 in an orthodox Brahmin family. He was greatly influenced by western modern thought and stressed rationalism and the modern scientific approach. Being born in an orthodox Brahmin family, he believes in the social equality of all human beings and thus he was strongly opposing of the caste system. He also abolished child marriage and the illiteracy of women through this reform.
