Silver Half-Tanka of Qutb Al-Din Mubarak Shah Listed For INR 40,000

This silver half tanka that weighs around 5.05g, was issued by Qutb Al-Din Mubarak of Delhi Sultanate. Qutb Al-Din Mubarak Shah Khilji was the third ruler of the Khilji Dynasty. He ruled this dynasty between 1316 CE and 1320 CE. In his four years of reign, he issued coins in different denominations and different shapes mostly in square and round. During the early phase of this reign, he issued coins in round shape, and during the later phase of his reign, he issued coins in square shape.The obverse side of this silver half-tanka is inscribed as ‘Arabic legend al-Sultan al-'Azam Qutb Al-Dunya wa al-Din.’ The reverse side of this tanka is inscribed as ‘ Abu al-Muzaffar Mubarak Shah al-Sultan bin Al-Sultan’.
This silver tanka is listed for INR 40,000 in the upcoming electronic auction of Classical Numismatic Gallery that will be held on 15th August 2021.
