He is known as the most colorful king in history, getting married to a series of six wives in his search for political alliance, marital bliss, and a healthy male heir.King Henry VIII was the second son of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. He sat on the throne of England after the death of his elder brother, Prince Arthur, in 1502 and succeeded in 1509.
