Kurus of Kolhapur Lead Unit

This lead unit that weighs around 19.56g was issued by Vasisthiputra Kura of Kurs of Kolhapur.During the 1st Century AD, the Kurus of Kolhapur ruled the southwest region of India between 30 CE and 64 CE. The reverse side of this coin depicts Chaitya, a tree in railing and river symbol. The obverse of this lead coin depicts ‘bow and arrow with Brahmi legend ‘Rajno Vasithputasa Kurasa’ around. The reverse of this coin depicts the tree in the railing to left, six arched hills on right and river symbol below’.
