This Northern Irish Pound banknote issued in the year 2006 is a special mention on the world bicycle day of the year 2021. World Bicycle Day is celebrated every year on June 3. The day aims at developing a culture of cycling for basic transportation, commutation, and strengthening physical and mental health.

The Danske Bank issued Northern Irish Pound banknotes in 6 different denominations. The banknote of ten pounds sterling shows John Boyd Dunlop, a veterinary surgeon who developed pneumatic tires for use in cycle racing.

The banknote on the obverse depicts the portrait of J. B. Dunlop at right and a bicycle at the left along with promissory note and denomination. The reverse depicts the Pediment of City Hall Belfast at the center.
