Raja Nahar Singh was the Jat ruler of the princely state of Ballabhgarh in the Faridabad District of Haryana, India. He was the great warrior king of India; he was also got involved in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. Ballabhgarh was one of the most important princely States established by the Jats of the Tewatia clan.During the first war of Independence when Delhi was liberated, Raja Nahar Singh established a military guard from Delhi and Ballabhgarh. Raja Nahar Singh guarded Delhi's borders against British forces and kept Delhi liberated for over 120 days. The British government, after catching him the British government offered him to spare if he apologized British government for the loss he did to the British government. Raja Nahar Singh refuses to do this as was the true patriot. the British government hanged him on 9th January 1858, near the present-day fountain in Chandni Chowk.
