The British Armed Forces issued their currency between 1946 and 1972. From 2003, they have started issuing their own small change tokens nicknamed pogs by the Squaddies. These names originate from the children's popular game of the 1990s.

This is British Armed forces 5 new pence introduced in military service of United Kingdom. It was issued in the year of 1962. In the 1st issued series of 1946, the smallest denomination was 3 pence and the highest was 1 Pound. In the 2nd issued series of 1948, the smallest denomination was 3 pence and the highest was 5 Pounds.

The third issue was similar like first one. The 4th series can be found on the top centre part of the one pound banknote. The 5th series dating from the 1960s are rare known only in specimen form with a few proofs.
