Guglielmo Giovanni Maria Marconi was an Italian inventor and electrical engineer. He was an entrepreneur, businessman, and the founder of the Wireless Telegraph and Singal Company. He is best known for his pioneer work in long-distance radio transmission, development of Marconi's law, and radio telegram system.

He is also credited as an inventor of the radio; he had also got a Noble Prize in Physics with Karl Ferdinand Braun in 1909 CE. His work is considered as recognition of their contributions to the development of wireless telegraphy". In the year 1901, he had made his first successful long-distance wireless telegraph, which was broadcast as the first transatlantic radio signal.

This commemorative stamp was issued by Madagascar to commemorate Guglielmo Marconi and his work.
