Coin Exchange Melas in Jammu & Kashmir

One of India’s leading private banks, ICICI Bank Ltd organized a coin exchange mela at its branches in Jammu and Udhampur two weeks back. Through this event the general public got a chance to exchange soiled notes with new currency and coins. Over 100 people attended the event and coins worth Rs. 3.75 lakhs in the denomination of Rs.10, Rs.5, Rs.2 and Rs.1 were exchanged.The Reserve Bank of India monitored the event which was scheduled in Sainik Colony, Channi Himmat and Dhar Road in Udhampur.
The bank has conducted many coin melas like this one regularly across the country and has received a welcoming response from anyone who wants to get their soiled notes exchanged for free.
