Ohio, one of the states of the United States of America, is situated in the Midwestern region of the United States. Today on 1st March 1803, it became the 17th State to join in the union of the United States of America. Ohio is the 7th most populous and 10th densely populated state of the United States of America. Historically Ohio is known as ‘Buckeye State’ after its Ohio buckeye trees and Ohioans are also known as ‘Buckeyes’.
br> The Ohio States takes its name from the Ohio River, whose name, in turn, originated from the Seneca word ohi?yo', which means "good river", "great river", or "large creek".
