The price of gold is on the rise which has created some tensions in the stock market. A one ounce US Eagle gold coin is worth over a thousand dollars and its Chinese duplicate is worth maybe a just dollar.

These days, fake coins look so real that not just an average person but even professionals are having a hard time differentiating them. Same is the case with coins that are purchased online or at flea markets. Many investors are being tricked and they end up paying $1,200 or $1,300 for something that is worthless. As per official reports, there is a considerable increase in counterfeit silver coins and fake one ounce gold bars in the US market this year.

Experts suggest for a scratch or acid test and more importantly always deal with an experienced and trustworthy seller. They also believe that doing an extensive research before purchasing precious ancient coins is also very important.
