Star Coins at the Legend Auctions to be Held on 19th May

17th Regency sale at Harrah’s in the Big Easy will begin on 19th May at New Orleans, Louisiana. Legend Rare Coin Auctions will conduct the sale offering 472 pieces, ranging from a few hundred dollars to over $1.6 million.The star coin at the sale will be a $20 Liberty Head coin featuring the following inscription:
* 30 * G * 1.5 * S * 3.5 * C * 35 G * R * A * M * S *
The coin weighs 35 grams and minted using 30 grams of gold, 1.5 grams of silver and 3.5 grams of copper. It also features the Latin phrase DEO EST GLORIA (To God Is the Glory) as per the $4 Stella design. This Quintuple Stella is one of five known and one of only four in private hands.
The coin is graded PR64DCAM by PCGS and has an estimate value of an impressive US$1,600,000!
Other coins that will go under the hammer include a gold $2.50 proof coin with an estimate value of $50,000+. A 1907 $10 WIRE EDGE PCGS MS65 stands on an estimate price of $60,000+. A 1861-S $20 PCGS MS63 has an estimate value of $50,000+
