Macau recently released new 10-pataca commemorative notes on 9th May 2016. The major colours used in the notes are red, orange and green. The obverse features a flower and rooster design, the Chinese Zodiac, 10 in SPARK and the Chinese lantern.

The reverse features the headquarters building of Banco Nacional Ultramarino, children with fireworks outside the temple of A-Ma and the flower and rooster pattern. The note bears a 4-mm wide windowed security thread demetalized 10. The watermark is made of a lotus flower with electrotype 10. The note measures 138 x 69 mm and is printed using HKNPL.
