International Day of Women and Girls in Science

The United Nations celebrates International Day of Women and Girls in Science today. The theme followed to celebrate the international Day this year in the ‘Investment in Women and Girls in Science for Inclusive Green Growth’.The day focuses in on the practicality of both science and gender equality in the field. These year themes also include 2030 agenda for sustainable Development in the field. According to the UN data for Scientific Education and Cultural Organization fewer than 30 % of researchers worldwide are women and approximately 30 % of all female students select STEM- related subject.
The goal is to achieve full access and participation in science for women and girls to achieve the gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. India has allowed put forwards many effort for girls in field of science and technology.
