Raja Ganpat Singh was the founder of Princely State Jind; he founded Jind in the year 1763. Today it is a district located in the Indian States of Haryana. Jind is the heart of Haryana and it is the fourth district of Jat belt along with Sonipat, Rohtak, and Hissar.The rulers of the Princely State Jind belong to the Phulkian dynasty. Earlier, it was ruled by the Scindia dynasty of the Maratha Empire and had also paid tribute to Martha Empire. During the Second Anglo Maratha War, Marathas were defeated and so Jind state became a British protectorate.
