India's Last Stamp Issue of the Year 2019

India Post has released a special commemorative postage stamp on DRI or Directorate of Revenue Intelligence on 26th December 2019 which was the last issue of the year 2019. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) is India’s chief anti-smuggling intelligence, investigations, and operations agency.DRI works to secure India’s national and economic security by preventing the outright smuggling of contraband such as firearms, gold, narcotics, Fake Indian Currency notes, antiques, wildlife, and environmental products. Moreover, it also works to prevent the proliferation of black money, commercial frauds, and trade-based money laundering.
The stamp was released by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman which comes with the denomination of INR 5. The stamp depicts the emblem of DRI along with stacks of banknotes on the left and precious jewelry along with gold and a tortoise (smuggling of exotic animals) are on the right.
