A Big Salute to Indian Fire Fighters

On 14th April, India post issued a special commemorative Rs. 5 stamp to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Mumbai Fire Brigade. Fire Service professionals have always been brave to tackle all kinds of emergencies by even risking their own lives on many occasions.Today Fire Services department in India is equipped with modern technology and equipment to take care of dangerous situations and emergencies. They are also highly trained for rescue operations that might arise in times of trouble. The Bombay Fire Brigade was initially commanded by an officer on deputation from the London Fire Brigade between 1890 & 1948. Since 1948, it has been managed by Indians.
