The Perth Mint is celebrating one of the most awaited movies of the year Star Wars: The Force Awakens with the release of a special 1 oz silver coin featuring one of the lead characters.

The reverse features a colorized and sculpted image of actress Daisy Ridley who played the character Rey in the movie. Other inscriptions include ‘STAR WARS’, ‘1 OZ 999 SILVER’ and ‘LUCASFILM LTD’. The obverse of this Niue island coin features the common portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Other inscriptions on the obverse include ‘ELIZABETH II’, ‘NIUE’, ‘TWO DOLLARS’ and ‘2016’. The mintage of this coin in collector proof finish is limited to 10,000.

The movie was released in December 2015 and has already earned over $2 billion worldwide.
