70th Anniversary of Radio Television Malaysia Celebrated on Coins

The 70th anniversary of Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) will be celebrated in a special way by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). They would be issuing a commemorative coin which will be up for sale from 25th April onwards.The proof coloured coin is made of 99.9 fine silver, has a face value of RM10 and a price value of RM212 a piece. Mintage is limited to 500 pieces only.
10,000 Nordic gold coins with a face value of RM1 and a price value of RM10.60 each would also be struck. The coins will also be available in sets.
RTM started radio broadcasts in Malaysia for the first time on 1st April 1946 and television broadcasts for the first time on 28th December 1963.
