On 8th August, An Post from Ireland released four stamps to commemorate the 100th death anniversary Andrew Carnegie. They depict Carnegie libraries in Kilkenny, Clondalkin, Enniskerry and Athea, respectively. The se-tenant non-denominated stamps are printed in panes of 16. They feature the letter “N” which stands for the basic rate.
Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish-American industrialist and philanthropist who was born in 1835. He donated money to build more than 80 libraries in Ireland, out of which, 62 are still functional.
