Local Cuisine depicted on Andorra stamps

The Spanish Andorran postal service produced a special souvenir sheet of two stamps on local cuisine. Andorran cuisine shares a lot of similarity with its Spanish neighbor Catalonia and France. The Cuisine of this region is an example of preservation of the traditional customs which are adapted to high mountains meals. The ingredient used to make these dish are high-quality products granted by this land.

The colorful souvenir sheet launched the new series of philatelic item promoting tradition and national attribute. These two dishes are both famous in the area. The fish stamp with an orange background depicts the dish ‘escudella’ which means bowl. The stew is made with local ingredient. The second dish depicted on a light green background is a local salad made from dandelions which grow naturally in the mountains area of Andorra.
