The United States of America had issued this commemorative gold 5 Dollar with the theme of United States Olympic Torch Runner.

This Olympic Torch is also known as Olympic flame it is a symbol used in the Olympic movement. It is a symbol which stands for unity and friendship. The ceremony of the Olympics starts with the Olympic torch relay, which formally ends with the lightening of the Olympic cauldron during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

The obverse of this coin depicts a torch runner carrying the torch to the cauldron, the Olympic Games logo, and the Atlanta skyline in the background. The reverse of this coin depicts bald eagle, with a banner in its beak.
