Babur was the founder and the first emperor of the Mughal Dynasty in India. He found this emperor after defeating Ibrahim Lodi, the last sultanate of Delhi Sultanate in the First Battle of Panipat in 1526. He ruled this empire form 1526 CE till 1530 CE.
Babur was the eldest son of Umar Sheikh Mirza. He succeeded the throne of Ferghana, now in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, when he was only 12 years old. He was a descendant of Timur on his father's side and Chengiz Khan from his mother’s side. In the beginning, he faced lots of opposition but after a long struggle, he managed to be a king of Delhi.
Babur issued coins in gold, silver, and copper. Silver coins issued by him have the emperor’s name on the obverse, and mint name and date in the margin; whereas reverse depicts Kalima in the center and the name of the four Khalifas in the margin.
