Austria Issues its First Platinum Coin

On 8th February, the Austrian Mint has announced the production of platinum coins for the first time in the country’s history. The design belongs to the Vienna Philharmonic series and is made of .9995 pure platinum.The obverse features the organ of the Musikverein concert hall in Vienna and the reverse portrays a depiction of musical instruments.
The coin’s face value is 100 euro and is struck in BU quality.
