Alexander Hamilton, a Founding Father may be staying on the $10 Federal Reserve note. The portrait of Andrew Jackson on the $20 Federal Reserve note will be replaced with that of a woman.Jackson was deemed as a president who influenced the decision of mass relocation of Native Americans by Trail of Tears.
Officials stated that $10 needed design updates most, for security purposes, and that replacing Jackson was not considered. But the decision changed after several public requests.
CNN also reported that the new $20 note would not be placed into circulation before 2030.
Underground Railroad pioneer Harriet Tubman was the most popular choice in Women on 20s' poll in 2015. Rosa Parks and Sojourner Truth were also among the other candidates.
