A sustainable garden scene is presented on stamps by Australia Post. These stamps are issued with the new ‘In the Garden’ theme. It is set with a fictitious Australian suburb in a temperature climate. The garden includes perennial native trees, shrubs and groundcover plants that don’t require a lot of water and which attract helpful animal’s species to the garden including pollinating birds and insects. The stamp is designed by award-winning illustrator Andre Hopgood who illustrated several children books focused on sustainability and the environment. This stamp is a great way for kids to get hands-on sustainable gardening.

The stamp features a rainwater garden which makes use of and purifies rainwater runoff, a veggie garden to promote seasonal eating a nest box to protect small birds and other wildlife like a worm to transform Kitchen waste into valuable fertiliser. The five stamps are set in a suburban garden in a temperature climate and feature native trees.
