U.S. Capitol Bicentennial Silver Dollar

This silver dollar was issued by the United States of America in the year 1994 to mark 200th Anniversary of the United States Capitol building in Washington DC. This capitol was also featured in some of the congress commemorative coin issued in the year 1989 and 2001.The obverse of this coin features the view of the capitol dome, with the ring of 13 stars which represents the original state, encircled the Statue of Freedom. The obverse side of this coin was designed by William C. Cousins. The reverse of this coin depicts an eagle, shield, and American flags. The reverse of this coin was designed by John Mercanti after the original stained glass window design.
