Elves and Pixies on Christmas Stamps of Latvia and Denmark

Latvia issued domestic Christmas Stamps on 25th November featuring an elf on a propeller plane with a doll and teddy bear seated behind him over snowy landscapes. Another special €0.78 stamp for mail to other European countries depicts a man and a rooster.Denmark’s stamps issued on 29th September feature pixies inspired by 19th-century illustrations by Peter Moller. Moller created numerous pixie motifs for magazines, paper cut-outs and early Danish Christmas cards. His happy, non-stop singing and dancing pixies are very adorable.
Along with designs featuring dancing pixies; others feature a pixie dancing with a cat, two pixies dancing together, a pixie playing an accordion, a pixie musical quintet, a pixie with two baskets full of gifts, and a pixie and a dog. Gustav Martensson designed these 8 kroner stamps.
