One Thousand rupee note of King George V brought whopping price of INR 1200000.Issued on 24th April 1931, printed in Nashik on white handmade moulded paper, this One thousand rupee notes circle of issues was Calcutta (Kolkata).
This One thousand rupee denomination note is Extremely Rare which has GOVERNMENT OF INDIA on obverse in top centre and a portrait of King George V depicted on the right window with 1000 written on all four corners.
With Serial number on top and bottom the note also bears GRI at the bottom along with the water mark window and Portrait. Circle in which this note is issued is seen in top centre, Rs 1000 relief as an under-print in signature panel and 1000 below promise text and signed by J.B Taylor for Govt of India.
Reverse is depicted with GOVERNMENT OF INDIA on top and a farmer ploughing the field in centre, with a lake and hills in the background.
This note also has micro-lettering in forms of intertwined concentric circles with 1000 and GOVERNMENT OF INDIA under both serial number panel and denomination written in eight languages in language panel on left.
One thousand rupee note is in about very fine condition and was sold by classical numismatics gallery on 8th August 2015. It brought whopping price of INR 1200000!
