The Bank of China and Banco Nacional Ultramarino will be issuing 20 patacas commemorative banknotes to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Sovereignty of Macau. Macau residents have been asked to register online for getting their notes exchanged for these commemorative banknotes along with four earlier Zodiac banknotes until 30th August. Each resident can avail a maximum of four commemorative notes.

A total of six Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig zodiac banknotes of each issuing bank can be exchanged by one person tentatively. This number would be changed as per the demand. Each resident can register only once and there's no separate registration for any one type of note. People can exchange their notes from 21st October to 10th December 2019 at the two issuing banks apart from certain branches of some other banks.
