The Marten Bear of northern Eurasia and North America, it is also called as Wolverine or the Gulo Gulo. This bear-like creature is a night-active and soil inhabitant. It is on the red list of endangered species and many parts of the earth already extinct.The National Bank of Mongolia issued an artist and extinguishes silver coin in the series of wildlife protection series. This commemorative coin depicts a very artist high relief illustrating the wolverine’s face with very amusing and sparkling eyes made up of CRYSTALLIZEDTM: Swarovski Elements.
In 2009, this coin also received Coin of the year presented by Krause Publication in World Money fair in Berlin, Germany.
