This gold mohur listed by Mughal ruler Rafi-ud-Darjat from the mint Surat during the first year of his reign is listed for INR 1,35,000 in the upcoming auction of Oswal Antiques which will be held in Bangalore on 26th July 2019.
Rafi ud Darjat was the youngest son of Rafi-ush-Shan and the nephew of Azim ush Shan. He sat on the Mughal throne after the death of Farrukhsiyar in the year 1719 CE. He was the 10th ruler of Mughal Empire who sat on the throne of Mughal Emperor with the of Sayyid Brothers. Rafi-ud Darjat was an intelligent person but, he was completely controlled by Sayyid Brothers who carried out administration in his name.
