The Durrani’s were Pashtuns of Afghans capital Kabul is usually bilingual in Pashto and Dari Persian, this kingdom is also called as the Sadozai Kingdom or Afghan Empire. The Durrani Kingdom was founded by Ahmed Shah Durrani in the year 1747 CE at Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Ahmed Shah Durrani was appointed as general under Nadir Shah. In the year 1739, when Nadir Shah defeated Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah he attacked Pakistan. Later, Nadir Shah claimed some of the provinces like Punjab, North-West Frontier provinces, Balochistan and Sind under him. After the death of Nadir Shah, Ahmed Shah Durrani established a new kingdom of Pakistan in the year 1747 and also made Pakistan as a part of the newly created state. He also claimed d Kashmir, Peshawar, Daman, Multan, Sindh, and Punjab up to the Sutlej.
This silver rupee which weighs around 11.15g was issued by Ahmed Shah from the mint Anwala during the 14th year of his reign. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of King. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with the mint name, regnal year and sword as a mint mark.
