Croatia Post issued a set of two special stamps to mark the 500th Death Anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci.

Considered as the greatest artists and scientists, Leonardo da Vinci was one of the greatest artists from the Renaissance period. He promoted figurative arts and the history of thought and science. He excelled in various fields such as painting, sculpting, architecture, science, engineering, literature, anatomy and invention.

As a tribute this great painter and scientist, Croatia Post has issued a set of two special stamps to mark the 5th Centenary of the death of Leonardo Da Vinci. Designed by Manlio Napoli, these stamps feature the images of Madonna and Mona Lisa – the most famous characters painted by Leonardo Da Vinci.
