Mirza Mu'izz-ud-Din Beig Muhammed Khan, also known as Jahandar Shah, ruled the Mughal Empire from 1712 CE to 1713 CE. The full title of Jahandar Shah was Shahanshah-i-Ghazi Abu'l Fath Mu'izz-ud-Din Muhammad Jahandar Shah Sahib-i-Quran Padshah-i-Jahan (Khuld Aramgah).
In the year 1671, he was appointed as Vizier of Balkh by his grandfather, Aurangzeb. After the death of his father in the year 1712 CE, he and his brother Azim-ush-Shan, both declared themselves as emperor, engaged themselves in a battle with each other for the title of next Mughal Emperor. Finally, Jahandar Shah won the battle and sat on the Mughal throne in the year 1712 CE. Jahandar Shah ruled the Mughal Empire for about 11 months.
This gold mohur was issued by him from Surat Mint during the first year of his reign. The weight of this gold mohur is around 11.05g. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Jahandar Shah. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with the mint name and regnal year.
